Triple Happiness

When we were married, it was considered "Double Happiness" in Chinese tradition. When Sophia arrived, our family was blessed by "Triple Happiness"! I guess not that Heidi, is here, there must be something about 4-Happiness, but I'll keep my address the same. Here is an attempt to share all this happiness with friends and family.

Jetlag and 12 Girls Band

Well, we've returned, safe and sound. Though my blog wasn't accessible in China, I did keep a journal which I am going to postdate when I get a chance. The trip was pretty unbelievable, with its share of adventures, reunions, fun and excitement. We took over 500 pictures, and I am going to upload some of my favorites when I get the chance.

Right now it's 3 AM and Sophia is sitting next to me, wide awake, playing with her toys. Seems the time change hasn't sunk in for her yet. I'm hoping this phase doesn't last long!

Our return flight was great. As we were in line in the Shanghai airport, there were a group of girls in front of us who turned back to admire Sophia. They were each holding small instrument cases. Peter began talking to them in Chinese and told me that they were traveling to Chicago to perform a concert. Hmm, I thought. I asked him, "do you think they are the 12 girls band?" I had just purchased a CD from the group of 12 Chinese young women who perform classical Chinese music because I thought it looked like a fun way to give Sophia some Chinese culture. One of the girls lit up and said YES! in Chinese! Check this link for more about them: http://launch.groups.yahoo.com/group/12girlsband/. They were on our return flight and we got a picture of them with Sophia for the day they become very, very famous. We're going to try and get tickets to see them perform tonight...

Ok, maybe it's time to go back to bed...we'll see how Sophia cooperates!
